The Serendipity Inn Bed and Breakfast was built some time between 1838 and 1865. Due to a courthouse fire in 1910, the historic records were lost. It was inhabited by a wide variety of interesting people from a furniture/coffin maker, to a test driver for the early Duesenbergs. The property sat vacant for several years. In 2009, the current owners purchased the home with dreams of having a bed and breakfast. In January, 2010, the construction began. Most of the work was done by 4 women, none of which had any experience in construction or renovating historic buildings. The renovation was done with attention to every detail and an attempt to bring the building back to its original glory as an exquisite historic residence. The renovation evolved day by day, bringing us today to a beautiful, architectural delight that all can enjoy. Of course, as with any large project, the work is never done. But, we are very proud to have you stay as guests in this most stunning home that woke up one day after a long sleep, stretched out its arms, and became the Serendipity Inn Bed and Breakfast.
